THINK FISHING WITH DES SHIPP

Welcome to Issue 13 of Think Fishing. As we go into our second year the weather is still cold and even though this latest issue was filmed very early on in March, temperatures have been very low and close to freezing in the days leading up to our filming. But it proved to be perfect for me to show you something that is usually associated with warmer weather conditions and that’s pinging meat with a catapult on the long pole. You’re probably thinking that I've lost my marbles fishing like this when temperatures are close to freezing, but believe me during the winter, and definitely at this time of year as we head into the spring, meat is an awesome bait.

So I took the Think Fishing crew to Moorlands Farm near Kidderminster, an old stamping ground of mine, for a trip down memory lane and it was perfect venue to demonstrate how I tackle commercials with meat at this time of year. It’s not all meat fishing though, there’s some pellet fishing as well so hope you enjoy the issue and if there’s a technique or venue you’d like me to cover in a future issue, please send me an e-mail at think-fishing@dhpub.co.uk or contact us via the Think Fishing Facebook page.

Enjoy!
